This project started out mainly as a personal one and around the time Google released it's official Twitter client. The big thing then was the new actionbar that placed useful functions at the top of the screen, represented by small icons. It's good to use the native ones so that all apps share a common thread, however, the ones included in the SDK is only available in png format. They also have some premade styling applied which makes them hard to use for anything but menu icons.
So I started turning them into vector format, one by one, at the beginning the ones I needed but it quickly ended up as a complete (or at least not far from) package. The feedback when I released them to the public (without any license attached) was amazing and it's a joy to be able to share my work like this.
These icons will soon be contributed to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and change it's license to Apache 2.0. I'm extremely grateful and proud to have the opportunity to do this.
